Toyota Material Handling Europe is exploring the opportunities solar power could have on its operations as it joins forces with Eneo Solutions. With an ambition to develop solutions that can be integrated into the OEM’s electric forklifts and its lithium-ion batteries, the program is seen as an important step in TMHE relying on 100% renewable energy by 2020 and zero carbon emissions across its full product range by 2050. As a first step, rooftop solar power systems will be installed at the company’s production and management facilities in five countries – including its headquarters in Mjölby, Sweden – this year.
Under the programme, the company’s module-based Li-ion batteries will be given a third life as cost-efficient, stationary storage for solar energy, enabling electric tru...
Keeping efficiency high in cold environments is a challenge, therefore having access to the right technology to minimise downtime is key. The lithium-ion energy solution from Toyota launched last year brings many benefits to each operation, particularly to temperature-controlled zones. “We are happy to expand our offer of lean solutions for cold environments. Our lithium-ion energy solution for low-temperature operations will help many customers handle goods such as fruit, dairy, fish and pharmaceuticals in an efficient manner,” says Sven Kruizenga, Product Manager Energy Solutions at Toyota Material Handling Europe. “We welcome you to find out more about this new solution at LogiMAT in Hall 2, Stand A05 between 19 and 21 February 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany.” Save energy with lithium...
Toyota has added features to its BT Levio & BT Staxio
pedestrian W-models, which it says offer even more fit for (un)loading,
stacking and horizontal transport in confined areas. The stackers can be equipped with low-noise hydraulics as
option, for a lower noise level. This makes these trucks ideal for working in
noise-sensitive and quiet environments such as supermarkets, shops and on-board
lorries during night-time deliveries. The BT Staxio W-series is now also available with a weight
indicator that displays an estimation of the load weight on the forks. This
prevents the lifting of too heavy loads, as well as overloading lorries,
elevators and loading docks. The BT Staxio SWE080L-140L stackers with initial lift can
transport two pallet loads at the same time (one on the su...
Toyota Material Handling has donated a Toyota Tonero
forklift truck to Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service. The Tonero forklift truck will be used to aid Firefighter
training at the Southern Fire and Rescue Station, Leicester. Its duties are to
include moving vehicles and heavy apparatus used in training within the station
yard. The donation came about following a conversation between
Mark Johnson, a Firefighter at the Station and Chris Pole, Toyota’s National
Parts Manager, who is based at the adjacent Toyota Business Centre in Meridian
Business Park. Chris Pole explains: “Mark and I are good friends and in passing conversation it
was clear that Toyota manufacture and supply forklift trucks which are much
safer, efficient and overall far better suited to the needs of the...
