“Sorry, our entire budget went to excellent customer service.” That’s what the new billboard on TVH’s headquarters in Waregem—looking out on motorway E17—says. The global supplier of parts and accessories for material handling and industrial equipment is known for its witty billboards, that are always designed in-house. But never before has one been this popular on social media. What’s more, it perfectly summarises TVH’s ambition for the coming years: optimising customer experience (CX). It was with this ambition in mind that TVH established a new division last year: Customer Experience. “This dedicated CX team brings together experts from different fields in order to put CX at the heart of our business,” said Silke Verfaillie, Global CX Manager at TVH. “We’ll be concentrating on e-

Haulotte Group has stepped up its activity in the used equipment market, launching a dedicated website for used machines from its 21 subsidiaries. http://used-equipement.haulotte.com/haulotte/com The company believes used equipment is "a smart way to expand a fleet with great pricing for a quick return on investment". Ludovic Jankov, corporate used equipment manager at Haulotte Group, says used equipment has, to date, accounted for less than 5% of Haulotte's total sales. All machines are inspected by dedicated teams and serviced with Haulotte parts. The equipment will undergo numerous checks before it is deemed 'ready to work'. According to Jankov, "All our MEWPs and telehandlers are (in demand) in the used equipment market." Haulotte's scissor lifts experience the stron...

If urban warehouse operators want to avoid costly legal disputes and be seen as good neighbours careful consideration must be given to the design of the facility and the mix of material handling equipment that operates outside and in, claims Paul Murray, JCB’s Teletruk General Manager. “Given that logistics hubs may need to operate 24 hours a day, it is essential that every effort is made to ensure that materials handling equipment in use within any urban warehouse is as quiet as possible,” he says. “Site managers must also ensure that they are using the cleanest machinery available and be certain that it complies with the minimum emission standard requirement for the area in which they operate – especially in higher density environments.” Two of the most common causes of fri
TVH, a global player in the material handling, industrial and agricultural equipment industry, launched a new website last week: ‘Humans of TVH' (humansoftvh.com). As the name suggests, the focus is not on the company's products, but on its employees. Among other things, they tell their story about what it's like to work at TVH. With its new website ‘Humans of TVH’, TVH portrays employees who tell about their job, work experience, hobbies, family, passion for travel and more. The idea came from the world-famous website 'Humans of New York', on which residents from different backgrounds are placed in the spotlight with their personal stories. In the same way, with the new site, TVH offers a unique and personal view behind the scenes of the lives of its employees. Not only colleagues
Two JCB Teletruk 35D 4x4 telescopic industrial forklifts are providing an essential material handling solution at the UK’s largest infrastructure project. Operated by Bylor, a joint venture between French construction company Bouygues Travaux Publics and the UK construction giant Laing O’Rourke, the machines are part of a massive 2,000-strong fleet of equipment working on the Hinkley Point C construction project in Somerset. Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK for more than 20 years. When the first reactor is commissioned in 2025, the £19.6bn facility will provide secure, low-carbon electricity for 6m homes. As part of a drive towards cleaner energy, the electricity generated by HPC’s two nuclear reactors will offset almost 600m tonnes
Maritime Transport Ltd. (Maritime) has confirmed its order of an additional five new Sany empty container handlers and five new Sany reach stackers supplied by Cooper Specialised Handling Ltd. The five single and double empty container handlers will be distributed across Maritime’s other terminals, replacing some of its original fleet whilst adding to its new and existing operations; all machi
The UK’s leading training provider is to release a report on site shortcomings and solutions following an industry survey. With October now confirmed as National Forklift Safety Month 2019, employers are being urged to take this as an opportunity to review their working procedures in a bid to drive down what industry leaders describe as the “stubbornly high levels of accidents and injuries”. According to Tim Waples, CEO of the Fork Lift Truck Association: “Across the UK there are 5 forklift-related accidents every working day. This year alone more than 1300 individuals will sustain life-changing injuries. And, as the ripples spread out, many more thousands of partners, children, parents, friends, workmates and employers will see their worlds turned upside down.” As one of the bus
