The Fork Lift Truck Association has announced the new date for its prestigious Awards for Excellence, which recognises the best and brightest in the materials handling sector. As the longest running event of its kind, the 26th FLTA Awards was due to take place in spring 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has launched a brand-new website, complete with a modern look, fresh features and updated functionality, designed to support members and non-members better than ever before. The new site covers all the latest government advice on Coronavirus in the Covid-19 Resource Centre, including health and hygiene factsheets for managers and equipment users. There is even a new Knowledge Hub to answer FAQs on a range of subjects. The UK’s leading training provider is to release a report on site shortcomings and solutions following an industry survey. With October now confirmed as National Forklift Safety Month 2019, employers are being urged to take this as an opportunity to review their working procedures in a bid to drive down what industry leaders describe as the “stubbornly high levels of accidents and injuries”. Now in its 26th year, the FLTA Awards for Excellence is the longest running industry awards presentation of its kind and is a highlight of the materials handling event calendar. In dry and calm conditions, 36 players from the forklift truck industry teed off to contest the inaugural FLTA-BITA Golf Day at the Warwickshire Golf Club recently. Following several days of rain, players coped well with the sodden fairways and the tournament saw some outstanding performances.
