Closing date for the FLTA Awards for Excellence 2019 is approaching

Even though this year’s winners are still basking in the glow of their Archie wins, the juggernaut rumbles on. With the 2019 Awards firmly in the FLTA’s sights, we are turning to the industry for companies and individuals to get involved, helping us to reward excellence and be rewarded, too.

Plans are already well underway for the Awards’ 25th outing. Yes, indeed: 25 years of being the standout night of the materials handling calendar. We have exciting things in the works, a top-quality host in Mark Durden-Smith and now we just need your help.

There are all sorts of ways to get involved in the awards (not least of which is simply buying a ticket and joining us on the night).

The closing date is the last working day of October so interested parties had better be quick!

Enter a product or service.

Launched something special between 1st October 2017 and 30th September 2018? You could find yourself in line for an Archie statuette. The always hotly-contested product categories can be entered below:

  • Environment
  • Ergonomics
  • Safety
  • Innovation

Put forward an individual or team.

But it’s not all about the metal and the machines. After all, any industry is only as good as its people. Reflecting this, there are a number of categories which recognise and celebrate the achievements of teams and individuals who’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty.

These include:

  • FLTA Dealer Member of the Year
  • Safe Site Award (for sites operating lift trucks)
  • Services to the Fork Lift Truck Industry
  • Lifetime Achievement

As with the products categories, work and services must have been launched or carried out between 1st October 2017 and 30th September 2018.

It’s absolutely fine to enter yourself for an award if you feel you’re deserving of recognition for your achievements. We’re happy for you to nominate colleagues, suppliers, customers, or simply a business or individual you know who you think meets the criteria.

The forms are simple and straightforward, but here are a few tips and hints for an Archie-winning entry:

  • Tell us just how much you’ve achieved.
  • Give yourself time to plan, research, develop and review your entry.
  • Make sure you read the event’s Rules and Regulations.

Support your entry with real and accurate figures which give a realistic understanding of your achievements – including claims and statistics..

A well-written narrative, which flows well, engages readers (including jurors)

Any specific claims or stats offered should be backed by solid evidence.

Ask someone working outside your business to review your entry to ensure it makes sense.

Along with the open nominations there will also be awards for Supplier of the Year, voted for by Members from a list of all the member suppliers (voting for this will go up after the nomination period), Apprentice of the Year, and Services to the Fork Lift Truck Association.
