The Manitou Group, world leader in all-terrain material handling, announces the takeover of a majority stake in its UK dealer Mawsley Machinery Ltd, based near Northampton, consecutive to the retirement of their main shareholders. A privately-owned company founded in 1981, Mawsley Machinery Ltd supplies construction equipment and services to its customers. Mawsley Machinery is the historical Manitou Group dealer in the Midlands. Two current managers of Mawsley are co-investing in the company to carry on this venture. The IFOY organisation has announced the appointment of two new jurors. Ying Xu, Managing editor-in-chief of MM Logistics in China, and Matthias Rathmann, editor-in-chief of the German logistics newspaper trans aktuell, were newly elected to the jury. The IFOY jury now includes a total of 27 editors-in-chief of leading international logistics publications from 19 nations. Forklift rental reduces emissions

A new report shows that by sharing equipment, the rental industry contributes to avoiding carbon emissions. The report, commissioned by the European Rental Association (ERA), found that efficient use lowers the total carbon footprint of equipment and that the rental business model stimulates efficient use. Depending on specific user practice, ERA estimates that this can lead to significant reductions in the range of 30%, and sometimes over 50%.
