Bobcat is launching the company's new generation R-Series telehandler range, providing a choice of 12 models with Stage V engines. The new telehandlers cover lifting heights from 6 to 18 m with maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 4.1 T. Speedy has added 100 new boom and scissor lifts to its UK fleet as part of its powered access investment strategy. Speedy has spent £3m on new Skyjack equipment, including both articulated and telescopic mobile elevating work platforms. The 100 new additions include the diesel-powered all-terrain SJ46AJ and SJ66T, and the all-electric SJ30ARJE, which have working heights of 15.9, 22.1 and 10.8 metres respectively. Speedy has also taken delivery of more Skyjack SJ6826 and SJ6832 rough terrain scissor lifts, which provide a working height range from 9.75m to 11.6 metres. These lifts have four-wheel drive and up to 50% gradeability for use on all terrains. Terex has appointed Will Westley has been appointed as sales director for its Genie aerial work platforms in the UK and Ireland. Will Westley joins Terex Genie from Caterpillar UK, where he worked for nearly 20 years. Most recently, he held the position of international industry manager for Caterpillar, responsible for delivering machine sales and parts to more than 90 countries. The Genie territory sales managers for the UK and Ireland – Keith John, Adam Mitchell and Craig Duffy – will report to Will Westley. From September, he will also take on the extra role of sales director for the Nordics region (Scandinavia and Baltic countries).

The UK articulated forklift market faces it biggest potential upset in years as a new entrant makes its debut with truck prices that could undercut its three rivals by up to 30%. The company is MiMA, founded in China 27 years ago and offering a broad range of electric handling trucks, tow tractors and specials, like die-handling trucks of up to 30t lift capacity.
