Hitec Lift Trucks Founder Retires

Having co-founded Hitec Lift Trucks in 1986, and worked for the company for 33 years, Prospero Girardi has announced his retirement.

‘The company I co-founded and managed has grown through the years and has left me with many fond memories. I have met some very interesting and lovely individuals, groups and businesses during that journey. There have also been many people throughout the years that have helped contribute to the success of Hitec Lift Trucks and to them I am incredibly grateful.

Not only have I been fortunate enough to deal with some fantastic companies over the years, I’ve also been able to build some strong relationships with customers, who have stuck with Hitec no matter what. Thank you for your dedication and may there be many more years ahead!

In May 2018, Hitec Lift Trucks was acquired by Briggs Equipment UK. I can honestly say that it was the best decision I could have made for the business and I have no regrets. The company is stronger for it and ready for its next phase of growth.

As such, I would like to formally announce that after much consideration, I have reached the decision to retire from the position of Managing Director of Hitec Lift Trucks at the end of the year (31st December 2019).

Adam Lantsbery and I have worked hard to restructure the business in preparation for my departure and I am confident that all is in place for Adam to step up and take my place.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Briggs Equipment UK, who have supported myself and the business through pre and post-acquisition, as well as our own team of engineers and office staff. You are all truly amazing and caring people.’

Adam Lantsbery has been with the company for over a decade, operating as Sales Director and will step into the role of General Manager, following Prospero’s retirement on the 1st January 2020.
