The preview truck, named P30i, is a high-voltage electric forklift truck in the shell of a diesel truck. "The P30i is the first lithium-ion truck with the power and driving comfort of a combustion engine and thus a game changer in the world of counterbalance trucks," says Christian Erlach, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Jungheinrich AG. As things stand at present, Jungheinrich expects to launch the P30i on the market at the end of 2021. An 18-year old former drama student from Liverpool, who is now just one of three female apprentices at Linde Material Handling is determined to trailblaze the way for other women to consider a career in engineering. Self-confessed tomboy Lucy Pover joined the team of 88 apprentices at Linde in September last year and since then has been working hard to prove to her male counterparts that women can be just as good, if not better than men at fixing forklift trucks. Ridgway Rentals has placed a £12m order with Gunn JCB for 200 new JCB machines for fleet renewal. The order includes both tracked and wheeled excavators, between 13 and 30 tonnes in size, as well as JS20MH materials handlers and 427, 437 & 457 wheeled loaders in response to demand from the waste and recycling sector. JCB Loadall telescopic handlers ranging from seven- to 20-metre reach are also in the order to serve house-builders as well as the agricultural sector.
