Hiab Signs Record-Breaking €60 Million Moffett Deal with US Customer

Hiab, part of Cargotec, has signed a record-breaking agreement to supply MOFFETT M8 55.4 NX truck mounted forklifts with one of the largest home improvement chains in the USA. The deal includes five year ProCare Essential service contracts and HiConnect equipment for each unit. Total order value is over EUR 60 million. In the second quarter, EUR 31 million was booked in the order entry with EUR 29 million booked for the third quarter. This is Hiab’s largest ever commercial deal and ProCare contract agreement, as well as the biggest single order for the Truck Mounted Forklift Business Line. Chivas Brothers is introducing the adapted Hyster E3.5XN to its facilities in Tormore, near the Cairngorms National Park in the country that makes drivers aware of flammable whisky vapours and shuts down the machine automatically if necessary. Forklift rental reduces emissions

A new report shows that by sharing equipment, the rental industry contributes to avoiding carbon emissions. The report, commissioned by the European Rental Association (ERA), found that efficient use lowers the total carbon footprint of equipment and that the rental business model stimulates efficient use. Depending on specific user practice, ERA estimates that this can lead to significant reductions in the range of 30%, and sometimes over 50%. "Ten pieces of equipment, from several manufacturers, were selected to be analysed for the research to represent a wide variety of popular equipment categories, including earthmoving, materials handling, access, power and tool," according to the association.
