Clark invests 4.6 million US-Dollar in the U.S. headquarters in Lexington

Clark plans to expand its North American headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. A third production plant will be put into operation at the location in the future, where the S-Series combustion engine counterbalanced trucks for the U.S. market will be produced. The investment volume amounts to 4.6 million U.S. dollars. Forklift business Combilift was started in Monaghan 18 years ago by engineers Martin McVicar (44) and Robert Moffett (62). Before the company went private in 2005, it had accumulated profits of almost €23m on a turnover of €53m. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength with revenues now at €1bn. It is difficult to put a value on the business, which recently opened a new facility built at a cost of €50m. Combilift currently exports 98pc of its products to 85 countries. The current workforce stands at 550 with over 200 new jobs being created. Financial experts have conservatively valued the business at €60m, although it is likely to be worth substantially more.

The father and son team of Malcolm and Ben Bowers have sold their Lifterz access platform hire business to Speedy for £9.6m cash. Speedy has also paid off Lifterz’s £11.9m debt as part of the transaction, making it a £21.5m deal. Lifterz Holdings is based in Wakefield, with additional sites in Haydock, Daventry and Bathgate. It has a fleet of approximately 1,300 access platforms, £15m annual revenues and 90 employees. Unaudited revenue for the 12 months ended 31st January 2019 was £15.2m with normalised EBITDA of £3.3m.
