Increased Capacity for the Jungheinrich EKM Order Picker

Jungheinrich has doubled the total load capacity on its latest small parts order picker. In addition to the 100kg capacity on its upper shelf, the versatile new EKM 202 now has a second storage space for a further 115kg of materials. The inclusion of the second shelf makes the electric truck particularly suitable for picking of small parts of items that have no pallets. A new AC drive provides the vehicle with a maximum travel speed of 8km/h, while the 120Ah lithium-ion battery ensures there is sufficient energy for especially challenging applications. Workplace accidents, injuries and fatalities are frequently occurring as employers fail to check the qualifications and training credentials of agency staff working in lift truck operations, warns RTITB. “All too often lift truck incidents hit the headlines,” says Laura Nelson, managing director for RTITB, the preferred regulatory body for workplace transport training. “Recently we have seen several cases where agency workers or temporary employees have been involved in accidents, many of which could have potentially been avoided if employers were more diligent about training.” Figures from Health and Safety Executive (HSE) show that half of fatal accidents in the workplace happen during a worker’s first ten days on site, with half of these occurring on their very first day. Cannock based Briggs Equipment are renowned for their fundraising activities and have supported a number of charities over recent years including The Teenage Cancer Trust, Newlife and now Alzheimer’s Research UK.
