Briggs Equipment recently delivered eight new machines to new customer PPM Industries’ site in Cannock this week. PPM Industries is a leading global manufacturer of masking and other adhesives tapes with two production plants in Italy and one in India. In Cannock, PPM has a distribution hub and converting branch. Jumbo rolls arrives from the Italian plant, ready to be processed into retail-ready rolls and dispatched. The relationship has been developed with regular visits to site over the past 12 months and Briggs identified a number of ways in which the customer could increase efficiencies within their fleet, as well as increase ever-important health and safety on site. Doosan Infracore Co., South Korea's leading construction equipment maker, said Sunday that it has been picked to supply 12,000 small diesel engines for a Chinese forklift company. The small G2 engines that meet stringent Stave-V European emissions standards will be shipped to Baoli Forklift Co., a subsidiary of the world's No. 2 forklift manufacturer, KION Group AG of Germany. A giant pumpkin had to be forklifted into Somerset as it squashed all the competition in the Wookey Hole giant pumpkin challenge. The truck was required for the competition organisers to deliver the enormous entry to the scales, where it weighed in at almost a tonne. At 927.5kg, the fruit was the clear winner. Security guards flanked the prize pumpkin as it was lifted onto the scales to protect the valuable seeds.
