New Edinburgh depot gives Scot JCB room to grow

Plant dealer Scot JCB has opened a new Edinburgh depot that is more than six times the size of its previous operation. The new Scot JCB premises are in Sighthill, five miles west of Edinburgh city centre and a quarter of a mile from old depot. The 6,000 m² building sits on a 1.4-acre site, with more and better workshop and warehousing space, and a training room. It has four double workshop bays, served by an electric overhead travelling crane, automated oil and services delivery to the central workshop module, a 225 m² parts warehouse and a large yard for showcasing new and used equipment. A North Wales company has held a series of roadshows to officially unveil its new partnership with CAT Lift Trucks. Deeside-based Hannaman Material Handling showcased a range of forklift trucks, access platforms and other equipment at events in Deeside, Wrexham and Knowsley. The company is also currently busy helping to set up the Welsh Rally, which begins next week. Hannaman trucks and platforms are currently being used to set up the giant service park in Deeside. When a Sheffield steel works requested a quote for new side-loaders it seemed a straight forward task to contact suppliers for prices, however, it soon became apparent that none of the mainstream manufacturers had a machine to meet the customer's requirements. DP World receive delivery of new Konecranes Forklifts

DP World ordered six forklift trucks from Konecranes in November 2017. The machines were recently delivered to DP World Jebel Ali Terminal 1 in Dubai, UAE. The forklift trucks delivered are the model Konecranes SMV16-1200C. They have a lifting capacity of 16 metric tons at 1200 millimetres and a wheelbase of 3750 millimetres. To meet DP Worlds safety requirements the machines are equipped with overload protection system, disabled forklift operation when seatbelt is disengaged and Groeneveld Greensight reverse system.
