Mentor FLT Training has confirmed that its team will be on-hand throughout the National Forklift Safety Convention on 3rd October to help delegates better understand the risk rating of their current operations and how it informs their potential refresher training period.
In the event’s exhibition, Mentor FLT Training will showcase its Forklift Refresher Risk Calculator, which was launched as part of National Forklift Safety Month.
The free, online tool was developed by Mentor FLT Training, in its role as FLTA Safety Partner, as part of National Forklift Safety Month (Safetember).
Designed for use with PCs, tablets and phones, the tool allows employers – in a just a few minutes and at no cost – to determine their risk, while gaining best practice advice on key subjects, with results summarised in a downloadable PDF report.
Mentor FLT Training managing director Stuart explains: “Our key aim is to get more and more managers thinking about the risk factors which influence how frequently they deliver refresher training.
“Getting it right requires a full risk assessment of your operations and your operators. While L117, the ACOP for rider-operated lift trucks, doesn’t provide set time frames for refresher training, it does suggest delivery every three to five years.
