Briggs Equipment recently delivered eight new machines to new customer PPM Industries’ site in Cannock this week.
PPM Industries is a leading global manufacturer of masking and other adhesives tapes with two production plants in Italy and one in India. In Cannock, PPM has a distribution hub and converting branch. Jumbo rolls arrives from the Italian plant, ready to be processed into retail-ready rolls and dispatched.
The relationship has been developed with regular visits to site over the past 12 months and Briggs identified a number of ways in which the customer could increase efficiencies within their fleet, as well as increase ever-important health and safety on site.
The new fleet consists of three Hyster reach trucks, a Hyster A15 with a Baumann paper roll clamp, a S1.0 pallet stacker, a JLG scissor lift and two Hyster 2.5T LPG Counter-Balances.
Billy Curtiss, PPM Industries Purchasing Manager said, “Briggs have found a solution that meant we could reduce the fleet size, for example due to the mast height on their previous machines being unable to fit under a doorway from one side of the factory into the other, we previously had to use two machines. As the new fleet has a reduced mast height, one machine can now to be used in both sides. We now have brand new machines and the reduction of the number required meant we have achieved a cost saving overall! Additionally with the introduction of the paper roll clamp we are removing a manual handling process which will increase safety on site.”
